Located in the Kamptal wine region in the heart of Austria, the Weingut Allram family winery has been producing wine for 4 generations with extreme attention to detail and great respect for traditions. Today, the company, run żeby Lorenz and his sister Magdalena, covers over 30 hectares of vineyards and is converting to organic farming. The grapes come from the 1er Cru Ried Gaisberg, one of Allram's oldest Grüner Veltliner vineyards occupying a steep slope facing east and a gentle slope to the south, and extending up to 330 meters above sea level. After a short maceration on the skins, fermentation takes place with only natural yeasts at a controlled temperature of 20°C. The wine ages on the lees for about 8 months in large oak barrels. The wine has a clear yellow-green color. The aromatic profile reveals fresh fruit aromas and spicy notes. On the palate, the wine has well-balanced acidity, with mineral and ripe citrus tones. It is a wine of character, powerful and juicy which shows an elegant and long aftertaste. The classic pairing for Gruner Veltliner is with asparagus, but this wine has the makings to match veal.
