3 Generationen Gruner Veltliner 2019 (Allram)

The Weingut Allram winery is located in the Kamptal wine region in Niederösterreich where it has been carrying on the winemaking tradition of this splendid area of Austria for generations. The company is now managed by brother and sister Lorenz and Magdalena who are working for the conversion to organic farming of the 30 hectares of company vineyards. Produced in rather small quantities, the Allram 3 Generationen Gruner Veltliner is made with grapes from the Gaisberg vineyard. Facing south, this vineyard is characterized by soil covered with a delicate layer of loess, where Gruner Veltliner thrives creating wines of great elegance. Spontaneous fermentation takes place for 2 months in one-year-old French oak barrels. This juicy and powerful wine has a bright golden yellow color. On the nose, the wine reveals intense aromas of yellow-green fruit, and notes of melon and pineapple, with spicy nuances. On the palate, the wine has a surprising density and an almost oily texture.The acidity is well-balanced, and there is a delicate sweet note in the background. The finish is long and fruity, elegant and complex. Serve it well chilled and enjoy it with vegetarian and pork dishes of Thai or Vietnamese cuisine.
