Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Considered one of the most interesting young companies in the Argentine wine scene, Bemberg Estate is a rather young project owned żeby the Bemberg family. The winemaking practices are entrusted to the promising winemaker Daniel Pi who produces wines of excellent quality, focusing his attention on the variegated micro terroirs available within the country. The Malbec grapes come from a parcel of the Finca El Tomillo vineyard, which owes its name to the large presence of wild thyme. The vineyard is located at an altitude of about 1,250 m a.s.l. In the Gualtallary area, a place characterized aby soils with a first layer of sand and a high content of calcium carbonate. After fermentation in cement vats with indigenous yeasts and the subsequent malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for 18 months in 300-liter French oak barriques. The wine has a dark, intense, and brilliant purple color. Its aromatic profile is rich and broad with aromas of dark fruit such as plum and cherry, hints of aromatic herbs such as the thyme that populates the vineyard, and notes of violet and cigars. On the palate, it is smooth and focused, dense and fresh with firm yet well-integrated tannins adding character. The finish is long and persistent and recalls intense fruity notes. It is perfect with red meat in general, but it also goes well with pasta dishes with tasty sauces.
