Growing up around the vineyard and cellar, he made the commitment in 2000 to turn his parents small 4 hectare project into a real wine operation. With a strict philosophy on sustainability and zero compromise in the vineyard or cellar, Huber’s vineyards are cultivated organically and the entire winery is certified according to the "Sustainable Austria" criteria. Gruner Veltliner, considered one of Austria’s most important grape varieties, is known for its crisp acidity, stone fruit profile and peppery finish. Planted on mainly conglomerate and loess soils, the Vision Gruner Veltliner is hand sorted to include only the physiologically ripe grapes. Fermented in stainless steel and left for another 3 months on lees contact in tank, the Gruner Veltliners of Markus Huber demonstrate why many people are falling in love with this variety. Notes of yellow apple, citrus, white peach and honey fill the glass. Fresh pear with a touch of pepper make their way through as well. On the palate is a mineral-driven crunchiness with hints of saline and bursting acidity that leave the mouth salivating. The perfect pairing for hot days, picnics and seafood inspired meals. Try with fish, salads, fresh fruit and a variety of cheeses.
