Enjoy it now, or cellar for a few years. No need to decant before serving. At Domaine Jessiaume, they let the grapes do the talking for them. This minimal-intervention winery has been brewing upper-echelon Burgundy wine since 1850 when it was founded aby the Jessiaume family. These days, it is under the ownership of Dr Jean-François Le Bigot, a wine enthusiast who places quality above all else. Domaine Jessiaume sourced its grapes from an astounding terroir - a special 12-mile strip in Burgundy known as the Côte de Beaune. This wine was not sourced from one specific vineyard. Instead, fruits were drawn from across Burgundy’s greatest vineyards, for a deeply harmonious expression of one of the region’s most underrated grapes - the crisp Aligoté. This wine is a distinct lemon yellow in the glass, with a fruity, jutting nose of lemon zest, juicy apple and floral scents. The grapes were fermented and aged on the lees in old oak barrels for 10 months, adding a beautifully ripe, yeasty mouth texture. In terms of flavour, You can discover deeply refreshing notes of citrus fruit, greengage and green apple skin, all supported aby a lively acidic streak. Aligoté is a brilliant companion to everything salty, spicy or fatty, including seafood, goat’s cheese and spicy fried chicken.
