Drink it now or cellar for up to 8-10 years. No need to decant it but best to open it half an hour before service. The four Mildiani brothers decided to pursue their passion for wine and viticulture, founding their family winery in the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia, in 1991. After the great success obtained with their Saperavi wine, awarded in various international competitions, the company has achieved great popularity both in Georgia and abroad. This splendid Orange Wine from the Mildiani winery is produced with Rkatsiteli grapes, an ancient indigenous white vine from the Republic of Georgia. Grown there for several millennia, today this variety is still Georgia's most popular white wine grape along with the red Sapevari. The maceration and fermentation of the grapes in the traditional Qvevri give the wine its typical amber color and great concentration of aromas. The wine is strongly expressive of the qualities of the Rkatsiteli grape. The nose reveals a complex bouquet of dried herbs and flowers followed aby elegant aromas of wood and spices. On the palate, the wine is fine and round, soft and rich in ripe tannins. The acidity is remarkable an, the wine shows an excellent balance and a persistent aftertaste. Like many Orange wines, the Mildiani Qvevri Bouquet Rkatsiteli makes an interesting aperitif and works greatly with lamb tagine and roasted vegetables, especially aubergines.
